No. 6 Penn State overcame a tied game at halftime to pull away from Northwestern and remain undefeated this season.

While Manny Diaz’s defense gave up only 175 yards and did have some timely stops, against an offense that entered the game ranked 101st nationally in total offense, Penn State has to feel like it could’ve done even more. In the end, though, it’s hard to find too much fault with a defense that finished with 12 tackles for loss.Penn State didn’t practice with crowd noise at the end of practice this week.

Still, there were plenty of Penn State fans in the Ryan Field stands, so much so that after critical plays the away team’s fans could be heard loud and clear. This has to be one of the smallest crowds Penn State has played in front of during Franklin’s tenure.This game featured a little of everything for special teams.
