Penn State redshirt freshman quarterback Beau Pribula ran, ran and then ran again to cap his first drive of the game against Delaware with a 6-yard touchdown run.

Pribula rushed for 18 yards on the previous play and for seven yards on the play before, giving him three straight carries to cover the final 31 yards of a scoring drive that lifted the Lions to a 49-7 lead over visiting Delaware.

Pribula took the field for Penn State’s second drive of the second half and took center stage with a 10-yard completion to wide receiver Dante Cephas and those three straight runs for an impressive scoring march. A Pribula-run offense, if or when that time comes in the season ahead, will clearly feature Pribula’s rushing ability as a threat, even to the more talented Big Ten defenses the Lions will see in the weeks ahead. Pribula’s juice could also factor in as a sidekick to Allar, coach James Franklin hinted last weekend.

Five boxes for Penn State to check against DelawareFive boxes for Penn State to check against DelawareThe checkmarks begin with a rant. And I’m sorry, but you’ll have to humor me on this. It’s ridiculous to pretend there’s any doubt about the outcome. And I’m not buying that any rough spots from the West Virginia game (other than placekicking) can possibly be “cleaned up” in this exhibition.
