California quarterback Troy Huhn, a four-star prospect in the 2026 class, verbally committed to the Nittany Lions’ program on Tuesday morning, per Blue-White Illustrated. The 6-4, 205-pound Huhn, who was pursued by James Franklin, offensive assistant Danny O’Brien and offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, becomes the second player to join Penn State’s 2026 class.
Running back Messiah Mickens, a four-star 2026 prospect who will play at Harrisburg High School in the fall, gave a verbal commitment to the Lions last summer. Franklin has already secured a verbal commitment from 2025 quarterback Bekkem Kritza, a three-star prospect from Miami.
