The construction of a covered linkway across Jurong West Street 91 started on Aug 1 last year and was expected to be completed by the third quarter of this year."Since January, progress on the construction appears to have been sluggish." he said and shared photos of the work site over the months.
In response to a Stomp query, West Coast Town Council said:"The delay is attributed to the pending approvals from relevant agencies necessary to proceed with the construction work.Meanwhile, the construction site is impeding access to a bus stop and other amenities, lamented the Stomper. "The progress of the construction work has resulted in considerable inconvenience for residents who frequently navigate the construction zone.
"Unfortunately, this temporary path comes with its own set of obstacles, including a steep slope that becomes hazardous during wet weather. Furthermore, this temporary path does not accommodate wheelchair users, imposing an additional burden on them to reach the bus stop via an inconvenient detour."
