If you have some free time and a love of animals, Pegasus Animal Sanctuary in Port Perry could use your help.
Founder Jack Hurst says they rely on 45 to 50 volunteers each week and right now, they’re short, so they could use some more. “We’re certainly looking for new blood,” laughed Hurst. “Volunteers are the life blood of our sanctuary.”They will provide all the training and each shift has a team lead to help guide other volunteers. You do need to be able to get to and from the farm.Pegasus is also selling their custom-made calendar for $20. Hurst says it’s their biggest fundraiser of the year. The money goes back into the sanctuary.
You can get them through Pegasus’ website or pick one up directly at a number of local businesses including Roxy’s Cuts, Old Flame Brewing Company, Crusty Pizza, The Standard News, Wireless4U, Foodland, Pet Valu, the Scugog Chamber of Commerce, Port Perry Feeds and Lake Scugog Lumber. If you have found a spelling error, please, notify us by selecting that text and pressing
