Thusi achieved her dream of becoming a DJ, something she had been working on for a long time. Thusi may have been practicing her skills for some time before publicly launching them, but this is her first year DJing for crowds.

Thusi played her first gig at the Makhelwane Festival, after being worried about what everyone would say about her decision - for nearly a decade. “I was always so worried about what everyone would say about this decision, for nearly a decade. Angisanandaba nezinkulumo zabantu (I no longer care what people have to say). I practised until I couldn’t stand. “I’m so happy because I overcame the fear of judgment, forgetting that only God has the right to judge me. I’m free,” she said
