Former South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) chief operating officer (COO) has been ordered to pay back about R18 million to the public broadcaster after his appeal was rejected by the Constitutional Court.

Picture: Matthews Baloyi / January 28, 2015Former South Africa n Broadcasting Corporation’s chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng, has been ordered to pay back about R18 million to his former employer, after the Constitutional Court rejected his appeal.
The application was in relation to the decision by the High Court in Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg, which declared the payment of R 11.5 million to Motsoeneng by the then SABC Board as unlawful and invalid. Kaizer Kganyago, spokesperson for the Special Investigating Unit voiced excitement over the Constitutional Court’s decision to reject Motsoeneng’s appeal.
