TV trailblazer Paul O'Grady spent his final hours "laughing and smiling" and surrounded by his beloved pets.
In a heartbreaking statement posted on social media, radio producer Malcolm Prince said he saw the comedian just a few hours before his death for "a good old catch-up". He said Paul, known for his drag queen persona Lily Savage, had been looking forward to his return to Boom Radio for an Easter special.Writing on Twitter, Malcolm wrote: “I'm devastated. Yesterday afternoon I popped round to Paul’s for a good old catch-up.
He added: "We have lost a unique talent – and I’ve lost a dear friend. We were all lucky to have Paul in our lives. My heart goes out to Andre, Paul’s family, and friends. Oh how I’ll miss him.”
