The films will see him team up again with director Sam Mendes according to Gladiator’s director Ridley Scott.
Gladiator II star Paul Mescal is to star as Sir Paul McCartney in four new Beatles biopics about The Beatles .
When questioned as to whether his swords-and-sandals sequel's star Mescal would star in the movie, as has been widely reported, Scott revealed that he is. Each film will be released theatrically and focus on a different one of the four main band members: McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
When the actor was then asked if he would indeed be playing McCartney, Mescal was in no mood to break any news: “No, no, no — we’re not going there,” he said.
