The 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. closure is for B.C. government work on the Pattullo bridge replacement
“To ensure this work is completed safely, northbound Pattullo Bridge lane closures, and a full closure of the bridge connector under the Royal Avenue overpass in New Westminster, will be in place from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.,” said a notice from TransLink.
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians, cyclists and first responders in both directions throughout. Drivers who would normally use the Pattullo into New Westminster are urged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges. Northbound N19 NightBus trips will be rerouted over the Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges and riders should expect an added 30 minutes of travel time.
Southbound motorists coming from McBride Boulevard will have to detour to the Columbia Street on-ramp during the closure, while the Royal Avenue on-ramp will remain open.
