One of Lone Oak Brewpub's delivery vans was vandalized on July 30
“What has been happening is absolutely ridiculous,’’ Dave Brown told SaltWire Network as he sat at the bar, referring to the reaction that followed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau eating lunch at the pub and posing for pictures on July 22.“This is just laughable. I’m just so very disappointed this is happening . I’m here to support these guys and I’ll support them to the end. I was here that day and I had my picture taken with the prime minister.
“It was just a little too coincidental for our liking that a vehicle we’ve had for three years, that hasn’t been damaged at all, that we end up with a smashed windshield after the articles come out,’’ Murphy said in an interview with SaltWire Network at the business’s Milky Way pub location. “At first, we thought it was something that, we felt, was going to blow over earlier in the week, but we started to see more negative comments rolling in.
While at the pub on July 22, owners, staff and customers had their pictures taken with the prime minister. The pub later posted those pictures on its social media platforms.Murphy said a police report was filed in regard to the vandalism to the van, but Murphy said police told him there is no video surveillance in the area, which will make it challenging to find whoever did it.
“It’s unfortunate to see someone take it as far as vandalizing our property, but we’re hoping that is the extent to which a small group of people are willing to go,’’ Murphy said.
