Passengers on a plane suffered through a 13-hour flight to nowhere, as they landed in the same airport they’d taken off from.But it was forced to turn back halfway through the journey when Auckland Airport closed amid mass flooding.
A state of emergency was declared in the city and at least 5,000 homes and businesses are being assessed for flood and landslide damage.
