with vendors selling a wide array of treats such as strawberry-flavored popcorn, elephant ear pastries and snowcones the width of softballs.
Alan Roland brought his Poparazzi's Gourmet Popcorn to the Pasadena Convention Center grounds for the four-day festival, which ends Sunday. Roland brought several flavors, but he paid homage to the festival, which is marking its 50th anniversary, by bringing strawberry-flavored popcorn.Other food for sale included barbecue fries, Black Angus burgers and turkey legs."It's a sweet treat from the Pacific Northwest," said Pringle as he stuck his head out of his food trailer.
He described the food as"a giant doughnut or a dessert pizza that we handpull, and we load them up with cinnamon, chocolate, powdered sugar.""You see them all on the West Coast, all on the East Coast, but there's none in the middle," Pringle said."I did this for almost 10 years over in Oregon. My aunt and uncle did it for almost 20."Where:Friday-Sunday, one-day tickets range $5-$15. Three-day weekend passes are $30.
