Jessup Elementary School is one of roughly 30 Pasadena ISD campuses located in the city of Houston. The district closed all 67 of its schools as a precautionary measure on Monday and Tuesday following Houston's boil water notice.Pasadena ISD’s roughly 50,000 students are scheduled to return to class Wednesday after missing two days of school in response to the city of Houston’s boil water notice.
“Being out two days was a disruption, but nothing we haven’t been through before and nothing we can’t handle,” Del Barrio said. “We expect to go back to business as normal tomorrow.” The district builds extra time into its calendar to allow for missed instruction time and therefore can absorb the two missed days, Del Barrio said.
“We will assess the situation and evaluate our options and make decisions based on facts and resources available,” he said.to express frustration about the disruptions. For instance, one complained about the prospect of leaving young children at home on short notice while parents went to work.
