A Pasadena man accused of intentionally driving his family off a cliff in Northern California has been released from the hospital and jailed on suspicion of attempted murder and child abuse.

Dharmesh A. Patel, 41, was booked into jail where he was being held without bail and could be arraigned Monday afternoon if the San Mateo District Attorney's Office decides to file criminal charges, that office said.It wasn't immediately clear whether Patel had an attorney to speak on his behalf.
