Rebecca Meder is hoping to make it to the semifinals of her secondThe 21-year-old has a week to prepare before participating in the women’s 200-meter individual medley heats on 2 August in the morning session, even though the swimming competitions officially begin today.She’ll swim again that evening at 9:22 pm, if she makes it to the semifinals. Despite her aspirations, Meder wants to take things one step at a time and avoid placing too much pressure on herself.
“It’s a big and scary dream but whether I get it or I don’t, I’m going to fight my way to try and see what I can do not just to make my family proud but my country proud and my God proud. So, that’s my goal, that’s my dream.”Brand new experiences “Ooh, not yet I got up, hopped on the bus and I’m now here,” she said when asked about meeting the Minister.
