The offences the William Maher pled guilty were not connected to the school where he worked
William Maher, who was working as a teacher in Leadhill Primary School at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual communication with a child under 16 at Belfast Laganside Court on March 5.
The case has caused great concern among the parents of Maher's former pupils at the primary school due to the offences taking place while he was working there. They said: "Parents feel very let down by the way this has been handled by Leadhill Primary School and the Education Authority and believe that we should have been given much more information about Maher's arrest and the charges that he faced in court.
