It comes as a car has been parked on the school zig zags 'for days'
Parking outside a Nottingham primary school has become ‘dreadful’ for parents who now have to turn up half an hour early to get a spot. Parents and guardians of children at Haydn Primary School in Sherwood have expressed their concerns about the lack of parking around the school.
“For pick up, I’m always here at 2.45pm, even though school doesn’t finish until 3.15pm. I knocked on a lady’s door once who lives on this street and asked her if I can park in her driveway to drop off my grandson. “I once parked in an empty driveway and the lady went absolutely crazy." Parents are also concerned about cars parking on the school zig-zags, as this causes blind spots that could put children crossing the road in danger.
This was echoed by Serap Bol, 32, who drops off her Year 3 child every morning. She said: “It’s not good when cars park on the school zig-zags. We usually park on the other side of the schoolyard because this road is always busy so we also have to come here early.”
