Calgary Stampede 2023 officially kicks off Friday with parade yyc

The festivities officially begin Friday morning when the iconic Stampede parade gets underway, showcasing Alberta’s western heritage with colourful floats, majestic horses and marching bands as it heads west along 9th Avenue, turns north on 10th Street S.W. and brings it home eastbound on 6th Avenue.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Calgary Herald, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.
After the parade, visitors can head straight to the grounds for free admission between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. After Friday, three other value days will offer savings to select folks at select times, including Family Day on July 9, Community Day on July 11 and Kids’ Day on July 12., a digital tour guide and daily organizer on smartphones.
Stampede officials vow 2023 will be a truly unique, “elevated guest experience,” bringing a big lineup of new attractions, midway rides and food, along with new spins on classic favourites.
