Pair of Riley Welsch goals help propel Hershey to shutout win over Twin Valley in D3, 2A

The eighth-seeded Trojans will travel to top-seeded Palmyra in Saturday's quarterfinal.

Hershey’s Riley Welsch converted goals in the second and third quarter to help propel the Trojan field hockey team to a 3-0 District 3, Class 2A first round victory over Twin Valley Wednesday.

The eighth-seeded Trojans, now 11-5, will travel to top-seeded Palmyra Saturday at a time to be determined for a quarterfinal round game. Palmyra was a winner over Twin Valley in a first round game Wednesday. Welsch opened the scoring with three minutes to go in the first half and added a second goal off a Cara Cronin assist with 7:36 remaining in the third quarter.
