Pair accused in overdose death of 24-year-old woman in Vista plead guilty [Breaking]
Two people pleaded guilty in federal court Friday for their roles in the fentanyl-related overdose death of a 24-year-old woman nearly two years ago in Vista.
His co-defendant, Valerie Lynn Addison, 40, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Diego. The investigations and arrests of Salazar and Addison were featured on the HBO documentary “The Crime of the Century,” federal prosecutors said. The documentary focuses on the “origins, extent and fallout” of the opioid epidemic in the United States, according to the network’s website.According to his plea agreement, Salazar used an online classified ad service to offer controlled substances for sale.
