March 16, the streets in the city's downtown area will become a little bit greener as around 3,000 people come to celebrate Irish heritage.
A press conference was held at Rochester City Hall Friday, March 8, 2024, previewing the 47th annual Rochester St. Patrick's Day Parade, set to take place Saturday, March 16.
Event leaders held a press conference Friday, previewing what's to come and highlighting crowd safety as the top priority for this year's parade. Monroe County Executive Adam Bello also made a special announcement ahead of the celebration. The parade is the biggest single-day event in the City of Rochester, drawing thousands of people each year. It will start at 12:30 p.m. at the corner of East Avenue and Alexander Street and end at the corner of West Main and Fitzhugh streets.
Bello says while he won't get into specifics about safety plans, paradegoers will see security along the route.
