The LAPD issued a warning about people using paintball guns to randomly attack bystanders or to commit crimes. Kids are posting the assaults on social media.

The bulk of the assaults have occurred in South Los Angeles, police said at a news conference Thursday. “You can hear the suspects laughing as the victims cry out in pain,” Bratcher said. “These assaults are no jokes. They’re serious crimes.” Bratcher described a recent video posted to social media where shooters pelted young children waiting outside a school. The video depicted “a party environment inside the car,” he said.
