The organization says it surveyed 46,704 of its members to gauge their thoughts on camping to form a top five list in time for summer. While Alberta’s Jasper National Parked claimed the top spot, raking in 39.5 per cent of the votes, B.C.’s Pacific Rim National Park Reserve got second place with 34.6 per cent support.
Home to the Nuu-chah-nulth people, coastal Pacific Rim Park is “a place of wandering beaches, stunning natural beauty and vivid cultural history,” according to Tourism Tofino.It says the 511-kilometre-squared park is known for its rugged coasts, temperate rainforests and three separate regionsEach region offers camping but reservations are required, Parks Canada says.
Tourists and locals alike from nearby Tofino and Ucluelet can utilize a new 25-kilometre multi-use pathway through Pacific Rim Park called ʔapsčiik t̓ašii, which was completed earlier this year in partnership with the Yuulu?il?ath and Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
