Joe Hogan emerged as the leading after final decisions on mail-in and provisional ballots; if the lead holds after pending challenges, Republicans would have 101 seats in the new legislative session, with one more race still undecided.

The state Capitol dome in Harrisburg. October 14, 2022. Dan Gleiter | [email protected] Joe Hogan emerged Wednesday with a lead for a still-undecided state House seat in Bucks County after counting of all remaining approved provisional and flagged mail-in ballots.

Lawyers for both sides still have some pending challenges to the Board of Elections’ decisions on certain ballots that may be resolved next week.Democrats appear to have won 101 in the November election, as well, though they will start the new session with at least one vacancy due to the October death of Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Allegheny County, and likely two given Rep. Summer Lee’s election to a seat in the U.S. House, which is sworn in the same day.
