In the Eagles’ 5-1 win on March 10, Squires scored his 26th and 27th goals of the season, and Jude Campbell of Fort Augustus netted his third for Cape Breton. Keiran Gallant of Covehead earned an assist on the Islanders’ goal.
The two wins improved the Eagles’ record to 26-32-3-1 . Cape Breton moved one point ahead of the Islanders into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.The Islanders, who have dropped four straight games after winning five in a row, will look to get back in the win column on home ice at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. The Islanders host the Saint John Sea Dogs on March 14, and the Eagles make the return trip to Charlottetown on March 15. Both games are at 7 p.m.
