“We’re just trying to inspire everyone to believe in their dream and believe in who they are and watch their dream come true,” said Julia Campbell, founder and director of P.E.I. Fashion Weekend.
Julia Campbell, founder and director of P.E.I. Fashion Weekend, says she is excited to bring back the biggest fashion event of the year – without COVID-19 restrictions. Jennie Pham • The GuardianCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The biggest running showcase of P.E.I. fashion is back with more designers and retailers and without COVID restrictions.
“This year, it’s specifically inside the Trailside Music Hall. The first show is at 6 p.m. and the other is at 9.30 p.m. We’re going to have a greater runway. We’ll have a better lighting on our runway. And, again, our entertainment aspect this year is going to be as amazing as last year and even better.”
This is what has motivated brothers Chrysler and Chester Hewlett to spend months working on their new collection. They founded their own local brand in P.E.I. called Created Unbound in 2021, and this is the second year they will bring their design to the P.E.I. fashion show. “We’ve got over 20 vendors who are participating. We have a giveaway of a thousand dollars for a shopping spree. We have pop-ups in Jems with our feature designers Chavah Lindsay, Rukki Tees and Fellow Earthlings, and we also have a live photoshoot happening in both of our windows from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.”
