CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Two Prince Edward Island boxers recently returned home with gold medals from a major competition in Ontario.
The Brampton Cup, an Olympic-style boxing tournament, attracted over 653 athletes with action in three rings at the same time, said Watts, and an average of 60 fights in the afternoon and 60 fights at night. Mahood said proving he can compete against the top fighters in his weight class has been great for his confidence as it helped him prove to himself that he can handle the pressure and perform under the big lights.
