Two people were arrested on Wednesday after a dog in their possession had to be saved from a fentanyl overdose when Irvine police used Narcan on the puppy.
A man and woman suspected of animal cruelty in connection with a puppy ingesting a narcotic in Irvine have a criminal history of drug-related offenses, according to court records obtained Monday.
The puppy they had in the car they were using appears to have been exposed to fentanyl and showed signs it was experiencing an overdose, police said. When police searched Eisman's backpack they found two to three grams of fentanyl, according to court records.
