The Honeybee Bakery has been forced to close after being ransacked on Sunday evening.

The owner of an independent bakery has been left devastated after the shop was broken into and robbed.Owner Vittoria Capaldi was contacted by a concerned member of the public around 8.30pm after they heard two loud bangs coming from the shop.The 28-year-old owner arrived to find the window had been smashed and the till and takings had been stolen. The bakery has been forced to close while staff cleans up the mess left behind.

"The street is normally very quiet, we've never had anything like this happen before so it's been a big shock. I think they tried to break into another shop on the street but weren't able to get in. The thieves were caught on CCTV breaking into the shop with the discarded till later found dumped near the train station. The suspects were picked up on CCTV getting into a car near the station.
