File photoSTEWIACKE, N.S. — Central Nova MP Sean Fraser, Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley MLA Larry Harrison and Town of Stewiacke Mayor George Lloy announced on March 3 that more than $6.2 million in joint funding will be used to enhance the town's water and wastewater infrastructure.

The Government of Canada is contributing over $2.4 million, while the Nova Scotian government will provide over $2 million. The town will provide over $1.6 million. The federal portion comes from the Rural and Northern Communities Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in"Communities thrive when they have access to modern and reliable infrastructure," said Fraser in the press release.
