Environment Canada has ended a “wind warning” for the Ottawa region as of about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.

An online map from Hydro One showed more than 300 outages in the early afternoon, mainly in southern and Eastern Ontario.Article content As of late afternoon, an online map showed most of those outages appeared to be in the area east of the Ottawa International Airport.ower has been restored to approximately 6,600 of the 9,253 customers impacted by the outages this afternoon. “Crews will continue to work at restoring power as quickly and safely as possible to the remaining customers this evening,” the post added.Article contentBans are implemented to prevent the rapid spread of grass and brush fires.
Devices that don’t require a permit, such as propane, ethanol and natural gas outdoor fireplaces and barbecues, are not included in the ban.
