Chychrun had left Thursday night’s 7-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning with a lower-body injury.
During the second period, Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman slew-footed Chychrun, then in the third period, he and Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont crashed into the boards. He was able to get up but made his way to the bench favouring his left leg before heading down the tunnel to the locker room. Chychrun logged one assist, one shot, three hits, and five blocks in 18:07 of ice time that game.
The 24-year-old has registered two goals and three assists for five points in 12 games since being acquired from the Arizona Coyotes in a trade on March 1st. He has recorded nine goals and 33 points this season, split between the Coyotes and the Senators.Additionally, the Senators also announced that 20-year-old rookie Ridly Greig’s season is done as he deals with a sternum injury. He last played in Thursday’s 7-2 win over the Bolts, logging 12:21 of ice time.
