He sat down for post-game pizza with his dad Scott and grandfather Joe Dossa, who then made the eight-hour drive home to Grafton, Ohio, just west of Cleveland.“We soaked it in over dinner,” Crum said Wednesday following the team’s practice at TD Place. “It’s the first time I’ve seen my grandpa in a few months. They were able to be here ; that was awesome.”“The biggest thing my dad always tried to get through to me was my demeanour and leadership as a quarterback,” said Crum.
Then, after Winnipeg kicked a field goal to open overtime, Crum ran 29 yards for the game-winning touchdown. It was a celebration of players and fans and everything in between that hasn’t been seen at TD Place in many years. “The big thing about our business is being consistent,” said Redblacks head coach Bob Dyce. “When you have a challenging loss or a stunning victory, you have to put it in your past because if that’s what you’re focused on, it’s not going to be good. With our losses or wins, we try and learn from them and then move forward. I don’t like going backwards.Article content
