Ohio State Football's annual spring game is expected to kick off on Saturday.
OSU will see some new faces on offense for the 2024 spring game with possible new starters at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver.The Buckeye quarterbacks room will have eyes on it. Dual-threat transfer Will Howard is an experienced quarterback who spent last season with Kansas State. Third-year player Devin Brown started the Cotton Bowl for the Buckeyes and Lincoln Kienholz saw some snaps last year. Freshman Air Noland and Julian Sayin will also look to compete.
"I still think the play-calling part will be a collaborative effort," said Kelly. "If it's a good play, I called it. If it's a bad play, called it. It's not our offense and their defense. It's Ohio State. It's really collaborative." Chip Kelly most recently was the head coach at UCLA. He also led Oregon to the BCS National Championship in 2011 but lost to Auburn 22-19.
The running back room led by returning starter TreVeyon Henderson, has new leadership with Day hiring veteran coach Carlos Locklyn as the new running backs coach for this season.The Buckeyes had one of the nation's top defenses last season as they look to repeat that success with defensive end Jack Sawyer saying he skipped the NFL to come back to OSU for "unfinished business.""All of us could have went to the NFL and achieved our dreams," safety Lathan Ransom said.
