Orlando Pirates will have to consider massive offers for some of their most important players in the ongoing January window.

, Portuguese second-tier side UD Oliveirense are interested in bringing Patrick Maswanganyi back to the club. Negotiations have commenced over a massive R40 million deal.

“It’s no longer just about an inquiry. It’s about negotiations now,” a source told the outlet. “They really want him back in Portugal. They are looking at the progress he has made and they are happy to bring him back to Portugal. It will all depend on what Pirates are looking at or if UD Oliveirense can afford what Pirates will be asking for Maswanganyi.

“The only issue that is there now is the R40m that the club has put on Maswanganyi’s head. You know he is one of the best players now in the country , and if the club wants that amount, then UD Oliveirense should meet that or make it even better than that. But since they are believed to have opened up negotiations, it will all depend on their offer that they table to Pirates,” an additional source stated.

. It’s been a long wait for the Sea Robbers. 390 games, to be exact, with 13 seasons of 30 matches elapsing by the end of the current campaign.Pirates have held the upper hand in recent meetings between these great Soweto rivals. The Buccaneers have won the last three meetings across all competitions, including each of the last two in the league, most recently that 3-2 success for the Sea Robbers with Saleng bagging a double.
