Orlando Pirates set to seal deal for Stellenbosch star but pending a medical and club confirmation, as first reported byPirates have secured a club-to-club agreement with Stellenbosch FC for the transfer of captain Deano Van Rooyen.

Both of their other right-backs, Bandile Shandu and Thabiso Lebitso, are injured, leading Pirates to insist on a permanent transfer for Van Rooyen.. Nevertheless, sources suggest that Stellenbosch might be preparing for Van Rooyen’s departure, given his pivotal role and interest from other clubs.
Barker addressed the situation, stating, “No, he’s had a bit of niggle the last couple of days – so it was a little more precautionary, plus also the conditions of the pitch. We’ve always said we want to keep our best players as we feel we are a team that can challenge for honours in the league – and our intention is to work as hard as we can to make sure we retain our squad.”can confirm that Deano Van Rooyen is expected to move to Gauteng and join Orlando Pirates.
