An Orlando Pirates star has spoken on what the Buccaneers think of the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the title race.
The Soweto giants have had a brief stint at the top of the DStv Premiership log before being tipped by Downs and Richards Bay FC among the clubs above them on the standings as things stand. Bucs are fifth on the standings, with Royal AM and AmaZulu being the other teams above them, going into this afternoon’s fixture against TS Galaxy.
Pirates captain Innocent Maela says they are not bothered by the Brazilians as they are focused on their own race. “I think regardless of how our rivals or Mamelodi Sundowns have started, I think for us as the team and for us as players we are very ambitious, and we want to go all the way and achieve things this season,” said Maela, speaking to the media.“But we don’t talk about them or how they play or how they perform, we focus on ourselves, we focus on the processes that have been placed before us.
