Two-time Summit League player of the year Max Abmas is 'coming home' to Texas.

Thursday night, just as the NFL draft began, Abmas finally dropped the news so many had been awaiting when he committed to Texas over Kansas State, the two finalists for the exceptional two-time Summit League player of the year.Abmas has been one of the best shot-makers in college hoops from the very moment he arrived on Oral Roberts’ campus in Tulsa, Okla.
Though Abmas’ run at Oral Roberts ended on somewhat of a sour note – he scored 12 points on 4-of-15 shooting in a 74-51 loss to Duke in the first round of the 2023 NCAA tournament – there’s no denying he’s a special talent. “But he's a guy you have to be really disciplined with. You want to make it as tough as you can on him, understanding he's going to hit some shots. He has deep range. He's an automatic free-throw shooter. His passing is much improved. I don't think it's about stopping him. I think it's about just being disciplined and making life as difficult as possible on him.”
