A software developer lands his dream job thanks to SQL, YouTube, and Oracle APEX paid Oracle

As a child, Alexis Galdamez enjoyed video games, but instead of consuming them passively, he wondered how they worked.

Four months later, his company needed a volunteer who could make small changes to a system using PL/SQL. Galdamez jumped at the chance and completed the work so quickly he was offered a full-time software developer position. It also led to a turning point in his young career: A leader of the open source project told him about the Oracle APEX low-code development platform and mentioned that Europe was a good market for Oracle APEX developers.

"Its simplicity lets you focus on the business rules so you can spend more time providing functionality to your customers,” Galdamez says.
