City Press together with The Other Foundation is offering a 10-month paid internship to a bright young candidate with a keen interest in news, multimedia, culture and social justice.

We’re looking for a young LGBTI-identifying journalist who wishes to train as they work as a news reporter and feature writer. The beat will focus on queer justice and lifestyle issues in South Africa and around the continent, as well as gender equality and women’s rights.You must be versed in the issues of social justice and gender identity.You must be able to adhere to deadlines.You must hold well-reasoned opinions and be able to argue your points in our opinion section.

You must hold a degree in journalism or a field relevant to this job description or have a published portfolio for us to assess.
