OPP are blaming a software update for technical issues during an Amber Alert near Cobourg. The alert was not sent out province-wide Thursday after a three-mo

after a three-month-old child was allegedly abducted by her father in Roseneath, north of Grafton.

OPP say they did reach out to the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre, its counterpart at Emergency Management Ontario, and an alert was issued on behalf of police to LTE-connected wireless devices in Roseneath.Police say the problem with the Amber Alert system was the caused by an automated third-party software update. Its since been fixed and the Amber Alert system is fully functional again.
