Opinion: Let me suggest that what we have in Ontario’s educational impasse is the classic gulf between liking someone and respecting them.

. Labour “needs to find new labour leadership.” How respectful is that? I’ll let you guys know when the leaders you choose are worthy of talking to me. Ford out., Matt Gurney says that while at the family firm, Deco Labels, Doug was a “sales guy.” He was made for it. Big toothy smile, upbeat, positive. Sales guys like everyone — why wouldn’t they? Everyone’s a potential buyer.

With Doug, I wonder why he needed to include the notwithstanding clause in his bill outlawing school strikes — the clause that says you don’t own your basic human rights after all. I mean, there are a million ways to break a strike without going barking mad and ditching the Constitution. It’s as if he’s been dying to use that clause since he was elected. He tried twice before, though only one went through.
