Opinion: Stop dithering, President Biden, and approve smart plan to save beloved Friendship Park [Opinion]
. It would allow border officials to meet their goal of having a structurally sound border wall, but do so through repairs and retrofitting of the present 18-foot wall. This would mean the park could eventually resume being a beloved border gathering spot. It would also prevent the gruesome injuries and deaths seen among those who tried to climb over other 30-foot border barriers built in recent years.
This shouldn’t be a difficult decision for Joe Biden, who campaigned as the anti-Trump on border issues. But if this obvious truth has yet to register with the White House, it might never sink in.
