Raptors mailbag: Would Dillon Brooks be a good fit in Toronto?
Hi, Doug. The Raptors attempted to add shooting with Otto Porter Jr. this past season but he was injured most of the year. If he had been healthy, how much would he have helped?Well, he’s a career 40 per cent shooter from three who had started for the winning team in the NBA Finals a couple of months before the Raptors signed him, so his contribution could have been substantial.
Do you think all the shoes have dropped at this point, or are there more potential head coaching positions that will open up before the draft? I think Nurse to Milwaukee is an impossibility, and I’ll shave my head if Budenholzer coaches Toronto next season. Been there, interviewed him twice, said no, beat his teams regularly. Can’t see it in a billion years.
As they are presently constructed, he’s not remotely as good as the team’s starting wings — Anunoby and Barnes — and he’d be little help to Toronto off the bench, even if he could accept that role. Hi, Doug. Hope you and yours have been doing well despite the April showers. Things are looking better for May!1) With Mother’s Day here, could you tell us readers who your favourite sports moms are ? Best trainer, motivator or agent ?
I don’t know a lot of sports moms, actually. Kyle Lowry’s is wonderful, Allen Iverson’s was always fun to watch, but that’s about it. I don’t really pay a lot of attention to family.
