One disturbing case involved Christine Gauthier, retired corporal and Paralympian, who had been seeking help for over five years to get a wheelchair ramp installed. Gauthier with CTV her disbelief when the government couldn’t accommodate her request but instead offered her euthanasia: “You’re going to be helping me to die but you won’t help me to live?”
