Michael Cohen was my friend. I knew his family and he knew mine. But for him to suggest before Congress in February that he was the Trump Organization’s top lawyer and deal maker is surreal. He was neither.
We both started at the Trump Organization around 2007 and initially worked together on projects such as Trump World Tower on First Avenue. Michael was fully invested in the Trump brand. He was funny, a showman and a bit of a blunt force—and that caught Mr. Trump’s eye.
