Opinion: In 2023, let's pay attention to the little miracles that happen everyday [Opinion]
My wish for all people this coming year is that they are able to see and appreciate the little miracles that happen in their lives every day.As an example, one day in December, I went to the post office to drop off my packages, but it was not open yet. I looked to see if there was a place to drop them off when along came Benny, a mail carrier who offered to take my packages. I thanked him profusely and he said he was just doing his job.
Even though the badly behaved people leave their garbage for all of us, it’s Ricardo and Angel who clean it up because that is their job. And they do it with grace and a smile and make sure no one else has to encounter the same awful mess as they did. It’s a miracle they keep doing their job given many of the situations they encounter.
But try for a moment and imagine what our lives would be like without people like Benny, Melinda, Ricardo and Angel. Our world would be a much different place and not for the better.
