You get that? The word “host,” in Ford’s mouth, takes on a certain connotation. Like how a virus attacks a host. Or how a parasite feeds on a host. He’s not the “guest” in such a scenario, he’s the invasive agent who will impose his will on a defenceless body, feeding off it and poisoning it for his own benefit until it is so weak that its survival falls into question.
There’s a common thread to so very many of these Ford announcements that so many local people in the places they affect object to: in almost every case, someone is gonna get rich. And in almost no case is that someone me or you or the people of the communities under attack.seemingly everyone in Toronto hates this idea
The further specific context is that this whole plan is meant to prop up a scheme for Ontario Place that, a way to claim that even while a forest of parkland is being razed to make way for a giant glassed-in tropical waterslide attraction, there will still be public uses down there wedged in beside it.
