Mike Wilner: Canada blanks Colombia to set up win-or-go-home game with Mexico

The right-hander, who got up to Triple-A for four starts last season, was so efficient that he didn’t even make it to his 65-pitch limit, needing just 58 pitched to record 15 outs. And all with barely any breathing room. Canada didn’t score until a two-out RBI bloop single by Bo Naylor, his first hit of the tournament, in the fourth inning, and it stayed 1-0 until the eighth.
Instead, manager Ernie Whitt chose to bring out 39-year-old Scott Mathieson to get the final three outs.
